Happy Friday Everyone!
Who doesn’t love cakes? I know I love them! However being vegan makes it harder to find a good cake than it should be (yes, i could make one but I’m lazy so no). So you can imagine how happy I was when I stumbled upon this quirky wee place “Deelious Geelious” on Sauchiehall Street. I almost walked right past it but I’m so glad I spotted this wee hidden gem now.
Walking into the shop, you’re welcomed with that sweet smell of cupcakes. In the glass cabinet lined up one by one are their yummy looking selection of cakes, muffins and loaves. Not everything is vegan but there is a large selection of vegan cakes and they also do gluten-free ones too. What I loved the most is that they don’t over charge just because they are vegan/gluten free cakes. Their cupcakes are around £2.50 which is an average price for a cupcake in a cafe.
We went in late on a Friday so I wasn’t expecting to get many cakes but I was pleasantly surprised. We bought their mint chocolate, peanut butter chocolate slice and the gluten-free blueberry muffin.
All of these were really good. The only one we didn’t really like was the blueberry muffin. The taste was good but it was a bit dry however this could be because it was gluten-free (I’m not a fan normally of gluten free things) or the time of day/week we went. Overall I was more than satisfied with how good their cakes are. The other two were so moist and tasty.
I am a big believer in supporting smaller companies and Deelious Geelious are a prime example of this. They too support smaller companies on their cakes. They use TheVeganBirds vegan chocolates. Adele is a glasgow blogger who makes typical chocolates (i.e snicker, bounty and rolls) vegan and sells them in cafes and health food shops around Glasgow.
So when you’re next in Glasgow, be sure to check out Deelious Geelious and make sure you’re following both Deelious Geelious and TheVeganBird on social media.
Until next time goodbye my lovelies,
I know I’m late on the band wagon with this but I had been put off purchasing these due to the mixed reviews online. That and the fact celebs are known for bringing out cheap merchandise just to make a quick buck but I finally bit the bullet and ordered Ginger and Leo, the new shades Kylie launched about a month ago. Leo was released as part of her birthday collection but I think she has made this part of her permanent collection now and being a ginger myself, I couldn’t not order Ginger. Happy Friday Everyone!
DIY Fridays is a new series I’m starting on my blog this week where I share some DIY’S I’ve done or try those dreamy Pintrest DIYS.
I’ve recently been re-decorating my room I so wanted a gallery wall. I’ve been wanting one for years but I thought it would cost a fortune and take loads of time finding prints I actually liked but I was wrong. It only takes 3 simple steps to make a truly stunning gallery wall. Continue reading Gallery Wall – DIY Friday
Just a quick message to say sorry I haven’t posted for a while I’ve really missed it. I promised I was gonna keep this going after my module for uni finished and so far I haven’t lived up to that but that is all about to change.
I’ve been working on lots of content for my blog so I’m looking forward to getting back in to it!
I start back to uni on Monday which will get me back to some sort of routine. So from now on I’m going to post at least once a week.
I hope you all had a good summer and I’ll be back on Friday.
Mascara is the one item I can not live without so after finding out my cult mascara The Falsies by Maybelline wasn’t cruelty free, I was on the search for the a new favourite mascara.
I had heard loads of good stuff about Too Faced “Better than Sex Mascara” and with a name like that it’s pretty memorable. Well done to the branding team on that one. Continue reading Better than sex?
Summer is fast approaching. Currently I wish I could be lying on a white sandy beach sipping a strawberry daiquiri with not a care in the world but in reality I’m drowning in uni work. Roll on summer but then again I live in the rainiest most miserable place on the planet so I probably wouldn’t get a summer anyway. Yay for Scotland.
Despite my negativity something has got my spirits up. All these new summer make-up launches especially urban decays new range which is all about that beautifully tanned, dewy sun kissed skin (swoon). Continue reading First Impressions of The New Urban Decay Highlighters
As you can tell this blog post is another food one. Who doesn’t love some pasta? Being vegan it’s hard to find quick easy meals for those long days at work. All ready meals have either meat or cheese in them. Typical!
This lasagne is simple to make and can be made ahead of time and frozen into portions for during the week .To be fair there’s actually not a lot of skill needed. It’s just particular products that make being lazy and vegan easier. This whole meal was inspired by my cousin ImperfectVegan, check out her Instagram. Continue reading Lazy Vegan Lasagne
Hey guys, sorry this post went up early with out being edited so any keen readers may have already seen some of this.
Since becoming vegan, I’ve been slowly trying to swap out any used up products for a cruelty free alternative because no matter your stance on eating meat I think everyone can agree than abusing animals for vanity isn’t on and as a consumer we vote with our money.
